Anubias Baba
Anubias ‘Baba’
Anubias ‘Baba’ is a rare and collectible Anubias variety appreciated for its compact growth and distinctive leaf texture. The plant produces thick, deep green leaves with slightly rounded shapes, giving it a clean and refined appearance in planted aquariums.
Like most Anubias species, it grows from a creeping rhizome and is very hardy, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced aquascapers. It performs best when attached to rocks, driftwood, or other hardscape where the rhizome can grow freely while the leaves develop slowly over time.
Care Tips
Lighting: Low to Medium
CO₂: Not required
Placement: Foreground to Midground (attached to hardscape)
Growth Rate: Slow
Propagation: Divide the rhizome carefully to grow new plants
Aquascaping Notes
Anubias ‘Baba’ is ideal for nature-style aquascapes, nano tanks, and shrimp aquariums. Its compact size and thick leaves make it perfect for attaching to driftwood, stones, or bonsai hardscape where it can become a subtle focal plant.
⚠️ Important: Do not bury the rhizome in the substrate. Attach the plant to rocks or driftwood using aquascaping glue or thread to prevent rhizome rot.
Please note that leaf size and shape may vary slightly as these are natural aquatic plants.
